An alleged thief was caught today after she ran her car into a tree while trying to escape a crime scene in Martinez, according to the Martinez Police Department. At 12:29 p.m., police received a call from Alley Cats Thrift and Collectibles on Main Street, reporting that a woman, later identified as 29-year-old Pittsburg resident Nicole Alvarez, had taken some items from the store. Officers responded and located Alvarez on Main Street, where she entered her vehicle and drove off, according to police. Alvarez was arrested for petty theft, evading police and probation violation, according to police. This is cache, read story here
